The Physicians of Alaska Physicians & Surgeon, Inc. (APS) join together to provide responsible and accountable patient care, which is physician-directed, patient-centered and cost-effective, and to work to preserve access to timely & appropriate primary care and specialty care for all Alaskans.
Toward this end, the physicians of APS resolve to:
Coordinate patient care efforts with other providers, physicians, institutions, and professional and lay caregivers
Work with providers for the provision of cost effective services
Participate with employers and health insurance companies to design health benefit plans
Provide compassionate, ethical and scientifically based patient care
Develop and maintain standards for treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction
Support public health practices and disease prevention
Respond to patient cultural needs and economic circumstances
